We ended up going to tampines 1 and the airport instead of the usual movie and dinner(which sucks my wallet dry). It was totally low-key but so worth it!

By some brilliant twist of fate, my mother actually allowed me to go meet Raqib at 2 a.m. last night to learn how to…skateboard. Yes people, I am finally living up to my hardcore reputation. As expected, I was so fucking tired after trying out the skateboard for less than half an hour.

Anyway, I had to go home around 4 plus and it was only when I reached home and was lying on my bed that I started to really think about my results. Like seriously really, REALLY think. Up until then, I forced myself to not freak out or think too much about it since it’s inevitable but I guess I totally forgot about it. All the ‘What if’ questions and the worst case scenarios started vomiting their contents in my mind. I started having a mini anxiety attack and all of a sudden, maybe by some miracle of god, Raqib called and started talking to me asking me if the rents are pissed at me coming home late and how am I doing.

I ended up telling him everything and after listening to me ramble on and on, he said “why are you so worried about? I know you’re gonna do well. You’re gonna go to a jc and make new friends and meet hot guys” to which I replied “hah I have a boyfriend, remember?” Maybe it’s the student counselor in Raqib, or the caring boyfriend in him that made me feel so much better after the phone call. Whatever it is, I’m still continually amazed that he has the ability to hear me ramble and still be able to give me encouraging words AND at the same time, tell me that I have a pretty forehead. What a man huh.

The Devil’s Backbone

I was watching a spanish horror film a couple of days ago(alone btw, how hardcore am I!) called The Devil’s Backbone and there was a scene that involved an explosion which killed a number of people at the orphanage(which was the main setting of the movie). Anyway, the explosion severely injured this lady who owns the orphanage and along with her husband who was a doctor. Knowing that his wife was going to die soon, he held her close, told her not to speak and recited a poem to her;

Stay by my side as my light grows dim,

as my blood slow down

and my nerves shatter with stabbing pain,

as my heart grows weak

and the wheels of my being turn slowly.

Stay by my side as my fragile body is racked by pain,

which verges on truth

and manic time continues scattering dust

and furious life burts out in flames.

so you can point to the end of my struggle

and the twilight of eternal days,

at the low, dark edges of life.

Being the huge romantic that I am, I obviously fucking cried when I watched the scene. It was epic.

Sorry, I just love this picture way too much.

Has it been one year already? It’s incredible..I can still remember the day we started talking and maybe even the time; February 15th 2008, 4 pm plus. We talked for 2 hours plus. Brandon kept taking the phone away from me to talk to me. And because I suck at telling voices apart I said “go away Brandon, I want to talk to him” and you said “it’s not Brandon, its me” and I said “haha..oh..” and it became awkward so I started humming because that is what I do when I get nervous and when it gets awkward and you said “you sound really cute when you’re humming” and I said nothing because no one has ever commented on my humming and really, my humming is strictly mediocre at best.

Today has been such a strange day. From the awkward morning walk that resulted in me asking him if he was still mad at me, to which he replied that no he wasn’t, to the continued awkward silence despite the assurance, to the shitty chem paper, to me going home and my mother telling me to pick Marsya up from school-which was a first for me.

But The Mentalist and CSI(have you seen the promo???) tonight, cookbooks and the fact that I have no papers tomorrow will make up for all the weird things!!!!!!111! Anyway, I was looking at pictures to put up on Facebook and I seriously look so…ghastly. Time to start buying face masks!
